Americans’ Opinion of Elon Musk Hits New Low

Americans, especially Christians, have long felt that Elon Musk’s personal life does not align with biblical values, particularly his having fathered at least 14 children with four different women over the past two decades.
Musk is not involved in his children’s lives and, despite his immense wealth, has fought to reduce the amount he pays in child support—leaving their mothers’ to raise them. Musk openly refers to his offspring as a “legion” and has suggested men should bring in other women to have even more of their children faster.

For many Christians, this does not sit right.
Back in February 2025, in response to the announcement that Musk had father yet another child with a different woman, Jon Root, a sports announcer and former Turning Point USA employee, wrote that the episode reflected how “[m]uch of conservatism is filled with godless hypocrites who couldn’t care less about conserving traditional family values.”
Catholic conservative, Jennifer Roback Morse wrote in her commentary picked up by the National Catholic Register, “Musk is a bad dad.”
Then in April 2025, Pastor Rodney Kennedy wrote, “Musk ignores traditional family ties. The bonds of love appear absent. He seems to have reduced traditional family relationships to mere financial arrangements. He is the definition of the absentee father.”
Some chose to overlook Musk’s behavior. But that number is growing fewer and fewer by the day as the limelight exposes Musk’s true colors. And it’s about far more than his reputation as a “prolific breeder.”
Among Republican voters, public opinion of Elon Musk is down 16 points since March 2025, sinking to 62%, down from 78%.
This comes after a heated public feud with President Donald Trump which initially started over a dispute over Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk called “pork-filled.” After several posts bickering back and forth, Musk wrote on X, “ Time to drop the really big bomb:@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
Musk then shared, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
While those posts have since been deleted, they solidified Musk’s falling out with President Trump and brought wide condemnation from conservatives.
